Manager - Quality and Safety
Paul has close to 30 years of rotary and fixed wing experience in both the defence and civil aviation sectors. Paul spent the early part of his career working as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer before moving into a management role with Qantas where he was Shift Operations Manager in the newly built Brisbane Heavy Maintenance hangar. His experience overseeing B767 and A330 Base Maintenance saw Paul transition to Qantas Defence Services as the Project Manager for the RAAF KC-30A MRTT Conversion program. This complex and challenging program allowed Paul to develop a unique skill set that saw him move into a Business Development Manager role for Qantas Defence Services, specialising in maintenance opportunities involving civil derivate quality systems.
Paul applied his project and business development skills working for a private aviation consultancy firm for 3 years, managing a diverse portfolio including corporate jets, airport planning, quality management and aeronautical product manufacture.
In his current role, Paul leads a small team who manage the quality systems underpinning Sikorsky Australia’s civil and defence approvals in aircraft maintenance, design engineering and technical training.
