Blair Drinkwater

Business Development  Manager

Blair has 18 years of both commercial and military aviation experience across engineering, project management, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), customer relationship management and contract management fields. 

Blair joined Sikorsky Australia in 2013 as the Aircrafts Program Manager within the Sikorsky Australia Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO). In this role Blair was responsible for the planning and execution of all aircraft maintenance projects within Sikorsky Australia. During his time in this role Blair delivered a number of key projects to civil and military customers across both Sikorsky and Bell helicopter platforms.

In February 2015, Blair moved in to the Customer Support/Business Development team within the organisation. Blair has been responsible for key client engagement, contract management and business development with both domestic & international operators and within civil and defence markets. Blair has particular strengths in civil applications of military/paramilitary aircraft, military acquisition and sustainment programs and a growing interest in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).

Prior to joining Sikorsky Australia, Blair has held management positions in commercial and defence related organisations such as Australian Aerospace (AIRBUS), Minor Group International and GHD.

Prior to entering the civilian workforce Blair served in the Australian Army as an Avionics Technician and deployed on numerous domestic and international exercises and operational deployments.

Blair is a member of the Royal Australian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (RAEME) QLD Association, the Australian Army Aviation Association (AAAA) and is the company’s representative within the Australian Industry Defence Network’s (AIDN) QLD branch.

Blair is Queensland born and bred, has a young family and enjoys politics, music and all things sports particularly Surfing, Golf, Cricket, any code of football and of course his beloved Horse Racing.
